The reel's drum rotates with a gear ratio of 4.6:1, which means that for one complete turn of the handle, the spool will make 4.6 turns. The reel can hold 300m of 0.4mm thick fishing line, and if a thicker line is used, the capacity in length decreases. It is made of carbon, a lightweight material with great strength and durability.

AR-C Spool

Also, even when the drag is loose, it provides such resistance that makes the mechanism unsuitable for fishing with sliding rigs (anyone who knows understands what I'm saying). The pick-up doesn't always open correctly, resulting in it closing during the cast, risking at best cutting your rig and at worst breaking your rod. The last two issues are characteristics of all Shimano in this price category, which are eliminated in the more expensive models. With less money, there are much better reels (see Okuma, Tubertini).

    Shimano has no competition at this price point, this particular reel is a beast. To spend 80-90€ on reels with fancy names made in China, it’s better to put in 20-30€ and get the Arlex. Oh, and let no one say that these are also made in China..... Shimano manufactures its reels, except for the top series which is made in Japan, in Malaysia.....
