AR-C Spool

The AR-C has a special design with a conical lip at the edge, allowing the line to unwind with less friction and in smaller coils for longer and more accurate casts. The AR-C spools reduce tangles and knots due to wind, especially when using braid, and are now available in almost all Shimano reels.

Rigid Frame

The Hagane body is made from very durable aluminum or magnesium. This creates rigidity and strength while eliminating the elasticity of the body. The result is a compact body that supports and protects the internal gears and provides maximum precision in use.

Varispeed

The excellent distribution of the line on the spool is the most essential feature for long and accurate casting. Shimano's revolutionary 'Varispeed' system consists of two gears. One is oval and the other is square. Only the highly specialized program created by Shimano can make the two gears work harmoniously. The result is the perfect parallel winding of the line.
