The Radial JDI is a passive direct box designed specifically to handle extreme signal levels without distortion. It features a Jensen audio transformer, offering a smooth, warm Bessel curve sound that resembles vintage tone. Ruler flat from 10Hz to 40kHz and with nearly zero phase shift, the JDI delivers the natural, clear sound of the instrument.
The JDI's 100% passive circuitry is inefficient. The transformer performs both high and low resistance conversion and signal balancing, without any power usage. Additionally, the transformer introduces a magnetic bridge that lifts the signal and rejects DC voltage, which helps eliminate hum and noise caused by ground loops.
