The DEWALT DCD740N is an 18 V cordless angle drill driver designed for drilling and screwdriving in confined spaces. Its fan-cooled motor delivers 360 W of output power, while the trigger allows operation from different positions. It features a rubber grip, a slide-on XR Li-Ion battery connection, a steel belt clip and a magnetic bit holder. As a Solo model, it is supplied without a battery or charger.

The LED work light stays on briefly after the trigger is released. The tool is 295 mm long and 67 mm wide. Vibration during metal drilling is 3.5 m/s², with an uncertainty of 1.5 m/s². The stated sound power and sound pressure levels are 87 and 76 dB(A), respectively, with an uncertainty of 3 dB(A) for each.
