This review is about the capacity: 5000 GB

Do not buy it!! This is the second My Passport series drive that fails in a very short period of time and with minimal use.

Initially, I had bought the regular My Passport (the black one with a USB A cable). Not only was it extremely slow (barely reaching 80mb/s), but after a few months of very simple use, it started becoming so slow that it could barely load files for viewing (like 2-3mb/s). I formatted it, but after a short while it started doing the same things again. In the end, I returned it.

So then I bought this one (My Passport Ultra for Mac), thinking that since it was more expensive and had a built-in Type C connection, it would be an upgraded, better model.
The speed was also the same (barely 80mb/s at first, then stabilized at 40-60mb/s!), until after a little less than 2 years of occasional use (it stays in a drawer most of the time), as I was transferring about 900GB from my Mac to it, after 4 hours of transfer it disconnected by itself and since then NO device recognizes it! It doesn't even show up in Mac's Disk Utility or Windows' Disk Manager.

In short, the drive became useless without ever being dropped and with minimal—I emphasize MINIMAL—use!

If you search the internet, you will see that the My Passport series is known for such problems, so stay away!

Truly unacceptable from a company like WD, which otherwise is top-notch in other storage media categories (3.5 HDDs, SSDs, etc.).
