CONTAINING the use of the weapon, aspects of shooting, the flight of birds, canine breeding, etc. "There are many treatises on shooting (most, if not all, of which I have read), and yet the matters concerning shooting have not been presented to me, as they should be, fundamentally.

In this little work, I have attempted to discuss thoroughly the matters of hunting, to clearly present the principles governing shooting, and to guide, so to speak, step by step, my readers to the full grasp of this art. I hope to teach them to shoot with unfailing accuracy at the swiftest of birds, and by correcting the shortcomings of the clumsy, I will make them exceptional hunters.

Intentionally, I have not dealt with the hunting of wild birds, not because I am unfamiliar with this type of hunting, as with any other, concerning dogs and weapons, but because to address this subject properly, I would need to write an entire volume.

Furthermore, a comprehensive treatise has recently been published, fully INTERESTING, titled "The Wild Bird Hunter" (Le chasseur d’oisaux sauvages). Therefore, it would be pointless to write about it here.

Since childhood, I have been accustomed to carry a weapon and hunt in various places across the country, in lands where the game, relentlessly pursued, is entirely wild. Therefore, today I present to the public the results of my experience in the most condensed form that I could offer in a simple and understandable style.
