How to Clean & Maintain Your Traeger Pellet Grill!

After each use, the grill needs to be clean and free of accumulated fats and residues from previous grilling, so that the clean taste of natural wood is maintained during grilling.

Make sure to have the following items ready:

  • Traeger Natural Grease Cleaner
  • Grease Tray
  • Buck Liner
  • Ash Collection Broom
  • Paper Towels
  • Cleaning Brush
  • Wooden Spatula
  • Disposable Gloves
  1. Spray the grates with Traeger Natural Grease Cleaner
  2. Spray inside the chimney
  3. Remove and clean the grates and heat diffuser
  4. Remove the aluminum grease tray
  5. Remove the heat diffuser
  6. Remove the heat baffle
  7. Vacuum inside the grill
  8. Scrub the inside of the chimney with a bottle brush
  9. Spray the walls with Traeger Natural Grease Cleaner
  10. Let it soak and wipe with paper towels

    Perfect for smoking (slow cooking) large pieces of meat or ribs. It is extremely easy to use, even for someone who is smoking for the first time. When purchasing, consider an additional €80 for a cover and 2 x 9kg bags of pellets for €50 (the use of heating pellets is not recommended). Consumption is about 1 kilogram per hour of use at 140 degrees Celsius with an external temperature of around 10 degrees. So calculate a usage cost of €2-3 per hour. It requires a power connection throughout the cooking process (it has very low consumption), automatically ignites, automatically turns off (requires about 15 minutes), and does not produce any smoke (visible), only when it ignites (the first 2-3 minutes). An ideal solution for cooking large quantities of meat without continuous supervision.

    5 stars for what it does because it does it perfectly, but there is a catch here. One must know the reason for buying it, if you want to do smoked and slow cooking, there is no better choice. It is easy and after a short period of time and a few tests, you will be able to achieve good results. If you want it for grilling steaks and burgers, I believe it is not worth buying it in any case, get a Weber charcoal grill for a third of the price and you will have better results. Now, about the grill:
    1. Smoked brisket, pork, and beef ribs come out amazing if done correctly. I have tried almost every meat, these are just the basics that one starts with, then you learn and start to see the magic of this grill. Whoever has not eaten such meats in their life is missing out.
    2. I see some people using it as an oven, it works and gives nice flavors even in simple things, but personally, I don't burn pellets to make bread or potatoes, for example, I consider the cost expensive. Except for pizza, which can be done quickly, I only cook meats.
    3. It requires some familiarity to use it, but if you like it, you find a way and it's worth it.
    4. You will definitely need a cast iron griddle plate, calculate the cost together with the consumables, etc. It will cost you 150+ euros extra

In terms of construction and technology, it is the best in pellet grills.
