The Dictionary of Ancient Greek is the result of painstaking and systematic effort and a product of deep love for the ancient Greek language.
It is aimed at philologists, students, and pupils interested in theoretical studies, as well as all those seeking a user-friendly dictionary to approach the texts of ancient Greek literature.
The lexicon covers a wide period of the history of the Greek language, from the pre-classical era to the Alexandrian Koine. Special emphasis is given to words found in the texts of ancient Greek authors taught in their original form in secondary and high school.
The entries include elements sufficient to resolve any questions regarding spelling, meanings, etymology, grammatical form, and syntax of the words.
Verb tenses, noun and adjective declensions, comparatives, and, where deemed appropriate, synonyms and antonyms are provided.
