THE SERVICES OF THE DAILY AND THE LITURGY OF THE PRESANCTIFIED GIFTS (General Typical Classification): During the period of Holy and Great Lent, there is a change in the order of the daily services, that is, in the timing of the performance of the daily services.
For each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning, the Morning Prayer, the Midnight Office, the Matins, and the Hours of the day are sung, followed by the Vespers of the following day.
When a feast day of a saint occurs, the services of the saint extend both to the Vespers which are sung on the morning of the previous day, and to the Vespers which are sung on the morning of the day of the saint's commemoration.
In the evening, instead of the Vespers of the following day, the Great Compline is sung on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and the Small Compline is sung on Friday along with the Akathist Hymn.
With the Vespers of the following day, the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts is performed on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
