I gave 90 euros with the DLC, knowing that I fell victim to my nostalgia but it doesn't matter, I don't regret it and because I've been away from the series for years, I enjoyed my experience. Just to say a few things.

1) I may be wrong, but the series now may have the largest audience of adults. The game needs to be a bit more demanding and not give you everything on a silver platter. The reason I got hooked on the series was the blood I spat in Emerald to collect 7 silver symbols, which is one of the few games with such a good aftergame. The Battle Frontier has been missing from the series for a long time. It gives a different meaning to the game. The games that don't have it seem like a waste of money to me. Anyway, it's bad that as time goes on, the difficulty decreases. Easy opponents, much lower level in their Pokemon, the legendary ones have an even easier catch rate.

2) They should have all the Pokemon. Removing some Pokemon from the game doesn't make any sense and is insulting to our intelligence and to themselves. Unfortunately, it seems that they have taken a beaten path and from now on they will do it in all their games.

3) The Wild Area is impressive, as are the parts of the DLCs. There are many things to do there and indeed, you don't get bored easily.

4) The 8th generation is nice. The legendaries are quite powerful, it's just that as time goes on, their background is not as great and logical. The 3rd-4th generations covered everything, from the legendary of the land, the sea, the space-time, the parallel universe, creation, etc. There aren't many anymore, but it's okay. Very nice starters and Dynamax is nice and impressive to see.

5) The other negative thing that is a chronic problem of Nintendo is that they never lower the prices. It can't be 1.5 years after I bought it at the same price. The money, objectively, it's not worth it. It's another thing if you give in and buy it.

6) Finally, make a game with voice acting, what else can we ask for?

By far the worst title of the series. We're talking about the first main Pokemon game on a home console and the guys completely let down the entire fanbase. The only good thing about it is the graphics and the music. The creature models may be relatively nice, but the animations are at least nauseating. They simply did a copy-paste from the 3DS without even trying to do something more. Games from 15 years ago have better animations. The whole formula and basis of the game are identical to all previous games in the main series. It's just stripped of any kind of exploration, difficulty, and creativity. The DS games are far superior, there's no comparison. You simply go from point A to point B and collect gym badges. That's the whole game. The cities are small and the routes are excessively short. Completely devoid of anything interesting. Dynamax is by far the worst battle gimmick that has ever existed in a Pokemon game. Completely dumb and empty as an idea. The Pokemon just gets big. That's it. Initially, the game was intended for the 3DS but then they decided to release it only on the Switch. So they added the wild area at the last minute, selling the moving camera as something new, and slapped it with the price of a AAA game. It's laughable. And that's not all, they had to release two expansions for 15 euros each, the content of which should have been included in the game from the start.

It's better to burn the 60 euros than to spend them on this.

Well, as a long-time player of the Pokemon series from gen 1 of the Gameboy Color to gen 8 of the Switch,

Certainly, it didn't come out as everyone expected.
It has its good and bad points.

Graphics
Let's start with the most well-known aspect that almost everyone looks at nowadays, it's not good. For a game on the Switch, I expected something better. They could have done a better job for sure. Essentially, they took the designs of the Pokemon from Sun and Moon and put them there hastily. The trees look very bad, as well as the ground. It's definitely one of the downsides of the game when you're playing on a console and expect something better than this.

Gameplay
Menu: quite easy and simple, easy menu.

Story: you don't have one rival but three, which makes it more interesting with nice battles. However, the only annoying thing is your main rival who talks too much, and at some point, because you encounter him several times, it becomes tiresome and annoying. The legendaries are interesting, especially Eternatus, which was the Pokemon that introduced the whole Dynamax concept to the Galar region.

Wild area: the wild area is quite beautiful to explore, and you can catch 90% of the Pokemon there depending on the weather. You can spend endless hours there without realizing it, and you can catch Pokemon that already know egg moves. If you find a Pokemon shining with an aura around it, catch it.

Cities: all the places with gyms and everything you pass through are very beautiful, and it takes quite a bit of searching because everything has different items.

Battles: very nice. As a VGC player, I play more Doubles, which are faster and require better setup. As for Singles, they are slower than Doubles due to stall Pokemon. As for the atmosphere, it's awesome. You can choose the theme you want to listen to while playing, and in some battles, you can hear the voices of the crowd cheering when you Dynamax. It's quite nice!

Trades: classic, but it seems a bit faster, although sometimes the wait to start the trade when selecting the Pokemon takes a little longer. It also has the surprise trade, basically a wonder trade where you choose a Pokemon you want to send, and the system finds someone who wants to do the same, and the trade happens. Very useful for completing the Pokedex.

Breed: you reach the first nursery very quickly after the first badge, and you can start immediately. It's much faster, and with a charm and a Flame Body Pokemon, it only takes a few seconds.

Max raids: the coolest element in the game. In the wild area, you find the so-called dens, which depending on the color of the beam, red being common and purple being rare, some Pokemon have more shields than others and are quite difficult to defeat at first. You can either join with online players, but you need to have friends on your Switch who are playing, otherwise, you won't find people. Another option is to go offline and only play with bots, which will be much more challenging.

Dynamax/Gigantamax: it's really cool to see them become huge and powerful. The difference is that Gigantamax changes the appearance of the Pokemon and becomes even stronger, with different effects moves.

Comms: The comms are when you want to connect online to find other players, it has many issues, sometimes it doesn't show your friend's raid if you have planned to play together and you need to log off the comms and log back in, and overall it is quite slow. I consider it the biggest problem in the game, especially for those who play online.

Sound: The sound quality is quite good with nice music and clear audio.

Overall, it is very good but fast compared to other games and much easier. For those who have played the old games, just know that it is very easy to finish the league, etc. For me, the game needed another year of work, but it doesn't mean it's bad, on the contrary, it is very good, it just could have been much better.

Know that if you get any version of the game, you can find exclusive Pokémon through trades with friends or online through surprise trades. Or you can search on Reddit for codes that give you exclusives from the other version.

And now they announced the DLC for €30, which is good because you don't need to buy another newer version like Ultra Sun to play the whole game again with small changes. They will add 2 new wild areas and dens for raids, as well as legendary Pokémon raids!

I have played for about 12 hours, so I can give a first review.

Let's start with the POSITIVES:

1) Visually, it is by far the most beautiful game in the series to date.
2) They have simplified some things that used to be either not possible or simply tedious (e.g. you can now change the nature of your Pokémon).
3) The Wild Area is an amazing concept that, with a little attention and development of the online and free roam aspects, could become a highlight of the series!
4) Some really nice new Pokémon (plus Galar versions of old ones).
5) Gym Leaders return and gain a little more substance with the gym missions that precede them.
6) Character customization with plenty of stylistic options.

Now let's look at the NEGATIVES:

1) Visually, it may be the most beautiful game to date, but it doesn't fully utilize the Switch, as there are some rough edges here and there (trees, ground, etc.). The towns also need a little more life, as they are beautiful but somewhat empty. And finally, it's 2019, let us rotate the camera with the right joystick...
2) The GTS is sorely missed, and I don't understand why... What could be more convenient than saying "I'm looking for this" and someone else doing the trade if they're interested?
3) The infamous Dexit. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all because after years, I might try to complete the Pokédex again, but it is important to many.
4) The online aspect needs some work, especially in the wild area, where the FPS drops quite a bit at times.
5) Dynamaxing is fun, but it's not anything extraordinary except maybe for the max raids.
6) Simplistic story as usual.

Overall, it is a good first step for the Switch, and the milestone is definitely positive. On the other hand, they played it quite safe, as the console could definitely handle something more, and I think with the profits that this franchise brings, they could give a little more care. It is still worth it as a game, and anyone who is a fan of the series will likely enjoy it.

Classic pokemon game but not on a handheld console (at least not only). After the first city, a wild area comes that every pokemon fan will enjoy, unfortunately I haven't encountered another one like it yet.

The positives:
-Large screen
-Pokemon that haven't been leaked before, so they were new to me (and I don't intentionally search to see what's there to keep it new)
-Good graphics
-Some nice music at different stages
-The gigamax doesn't look bad so far

The negatives:
-The story so far doesn't differ anywhere
-And the biggest negative for me, as my first pokemon game was when I was 5 and it was pokemon red, it's RIDICULOUSLY EASY. Something we've been seeing in pokemon for years now and it has lost a lot of its magic because you don't need to try to level up your pokemon to cope.

P.S.: I read somewhere that if you leave the autosave there is a bug that might delete all the saves of all the games, I don't know why but as soon as I opened it I deleted the autosave because pokemon and autosave don't go together.

P.P.S.: The game ended after years of keeping me. I want to complete the pokedex, something I haven't done since the 4th generation and before that the 1st and 2nd. The story tried to be different with Dynamax but it's mostly the classic pokemon story with a little twist.

I would give it 5 stars but I believe it's the game that should have come out in the 7th generation and in the 8th I would have reached Breath of the Wild levels
