The Guide to the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki comes to fill a long-standing gap in informing the museum visitor. The previous lack of a general guide to the museum is partly due to the continuous changes in the exhibition of ancient artifacts, a consequence of the rapid increase in displayable items over the last two decades.

We hope that the Guide to the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki will serve as the primary aid for visitors who wish to have a general overview of the contents of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, as well as a more detailed insight into the individual sections, as the book will guide them through the most significant exhibits of each room, from showcase to showcase.
