Shipbuilding in modern Greece was, until the early 20th century, one of the most vibrant productive sectors and today provides rich material for the history of technologies.

The "Greek Traditional Shipbuilding," a result of years of research based on historical sources and valuable testimonies from the last surviving shipbuilders, examines the construction techniques, the types and forms of traditional vessels, the tools, the types of shipbuilding timber, the design methods, and the "building" of the ships.
