This monograph aims to successively highlight the solution of mindsets, perceptions, and ideologies that manifested with reference to Kosovo and led to the most explosive post-war crisis in Europe.

It successively examines the various forms and phases of the vicious cycle of nationalisms in Yugoslavia (primarily Serbian), and their role as a pretext for the exercise of sovereignty.

It is argued that the NATO military intervention, only at the level of propaganda, was related to the systematically violated human rights of the Albanian Kosovars, while the discourse of experts and "strategists" referred to interests.

The intervention took place without any convincing preventive and deterrent policy having been previously established. And even when related means were activated, they were either negative or polarizing.

The problematic shifts from the analysis of official Western reasoning about the Balkans to what is revealed, through Kosovo, about the West with regard to the functioning of democracy and civil society.
