Thus, for the convenience of the reading public of "The Golden Bough," we proceeded to compile a detailed and interpretive index, based on the English index, which we have, as much as possible, adapted to the Greek context, transcribing foreign words into Greek characters and modifying the abbreviations of individual entries according to the current form of our language.
