I would mainly call it a journalistic chronicle and not a book that presents an analysis, research, or an opinion or analysis of that era. Very good work by the authors (distinguished in their field), but expensive for what it offers.

Whoever closely followed the press of the time (Greek and International) did not become wiser. However, it is a book that presents all the events with accuracy and objectivity. Additionally, it presents details about the personalities of the protagonists and their personal ambitions that emerge from their actions and words. Anyone who wants to have a clear picture of what happened should read it.

A book that must be read by all Greeks in order to understand how the country was saved during that period. It is excellent how it presents what happened during that time. Finally, it is important to mention that from the day of its release until now, there has been no reaction of denial!

Excellent simply. I have read it and I am rereading it without being able to comprehend how we were saved by a miracle.
Well-written, it presents facts and incidents as they are, from unknown until now aspects that truly impress you.
I have also given it as a gift to several friends of mine and the comments I received were more than flattering.

P.S: To those who talk about non-existent assumptions, lack of documentation, etc:
Until today, nothing that the book writes has been disproven, and if someone had a different opinion, there is also the path of justice with evidence and proof. Whoever has doubts and believes that the authors are lying should take legal action.

Excellent, thrilling, just as Greece experienced during that controversial period. Nothing mentioned has ever been denied by the involved European officials!!!! All Greeks must read it.

It would gain points in documentation if it presented the information it constantly refers to in tables and documents. The way it is written resembles more of a novel than a recording of historical events, even if they are so close in time to their occurrence. Tsipras is presented as a rudderless ship (wherever the current goes, he goes too. With a phone call to his associates (who was really governing the country, Tzanakopoulos as he claims he said?) he constantly changes his stance. Ioannis (with one N) is presented as a person out of place and time, while his replacements are also inadequate for the circumstances. Surely the advertising helped in the sales of a digestible book, with little contribution to clarifying the events of the era.

The book is well-written and describes the events of the economic crisis from 2010 onwards.

* References - citations for financial data, nonexistent. Therefore, an exposition of ideas.
* Presents the government line as relatively unified while it is obvious that there were at least 3 camps (Dragasakis-Houliarakis, Varoufakis, Left Front).
* Does not analyze the progression of events in case the Dragasakis team had not sabotaged the negotiation, telling Draghi that Varoufakis is bluffing, there is no chance we will haircut the bonds, etc.
* Clear bias towards a neoliberal/technocratic line. Somewhat expected since it is a journalist from Kathimerini and an author who has no other book to her credit and is a member of a Brussels think tank.
* Overall, sees things very linearly, while they are multidimensional.

A book that we all need to read in order to learn how some led this country to the brink of destruction. It is well-written and gives me the impression that the events have been objectively portrayed.

Very superficial and easily understandable book. Although it is claimed to be a product of "closed" interviews and confidential conversations, it is not based on any evidence. Economic indicators, numbers, data about debt, surpluses, growth rates are completely unsubstantiated, not derived from any scientific source, and there are no bibliographic references anywhere.
