The "Organic Chemistry" was published in two separate volumes, as first and second parts for educational purposes, in order to better adapt to the teaching of the corresponding course. In the second part, the study of the remaining major classes of compounds continues, which have been selected for the most complete teaching of Organic Chemistry at the undergraduate university level. The study of acyclic compounds (Nitrogenous, Sulfur-containing, Organosilicon) is completed, the "aromatic character" is examined, and the main classes of aromatic compounds (Hydrocarbons, Halogenated, Oxygen-containing, Sulfur-containing, Nitrogenous Compounds) are covered, along with relevant limited information from the chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds.
Finally, various classes of natural products with biological and practical interest are studied, such as Lipids, Amino Acids, Peptides, Proteins, Sugars, and Isoprenoids, and information from the chemistry of Synthetic Polymers is mentioned. Emphasis is placed on the nomenclature of the various classes of compounds and the groups that characterize them, on the critical approach to their properties and methods of preparation, and the spectroscopic properties that contribute to their characterization and identification are highlighted.
The relationships between the different classes of compounds are emphasized, and with selected exercises, accompanied by solutions - answers and critique, a deeper understanding of the subject matter of the various Chapters is sought, so that the prediction of the properties of unknown compounds is also possible.
