The processes of change in male identity, which have recently accelerated impressively revealing a more internal and private side of men, are becoming increasingly visible on a socio-cultural, familial, and personal level and are reflected in the structure and function of the family, in the couple's relationship, and in workplace and other social relationships.
The book "Man: The Silent Revolution" approaches the emerging new male identity from various perspectives. The authors track the modern man on an unprecedented journey for our traditional stereotypes, as he silently sheds his armor and questions the one-dimensional image he had of himself and that others had of him.
Abandoning his archetypal hegemonic position, he finds himself at an existential crossroads, where he reconsiders many deeply rooted aspects of his traditional self. Equipped with the insightful tools of understanding offered by systemic epistemology and with a broader, holistic perspective, the authors develop theoretical reflections and explore the gradual transformation of the image of men in Greece and other Western cultures through research material, cinema, and therapeutic processes with men and significant others.
A book about the fundamental changes in male identity, written by therapists who come into contact with the male psyche daily and have been documenting for decades the silent revolution of men in the choice and re-prioritization of their social roles, personal values, and ultimately, the pursuits that give them a new meaning in life.
