Born in Moscow in 1821, Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky spent much of his turbulent life in Saint Petersburg, where he died in 1881.
Spring in Saint Petersburg consists of four essays published in 1847 in the newspaper Chronicles of Saint Petersburg. These essays, forgotten by critics and historians of Russian literature, were not included in Dostoevsky's collected works.
They are texts that remained almost unknown to the general public and which vividly portray images and snapshots of daily life in Saint Petersburg.
