The responsibility of a parent is to set boundaries, an issue that is addressed in many aspects throughout the entire book. It is worth reading.

Out of place and time the book. Very old, outdated views. And let me clarify, I am not a mom who allows my children's bad behavior unchecked. I like and find necessary boundaries, but not as the author presents them. There are so many methods now, so many ways to communicate with the child. I found it a very cold book and without any emotion.

Worthwhile book, agree-disagree with the author's opinions. Parents and educators should definitely read it!!!!!

I am in the field of psychology and a new mom, I found the book excellent, even though I am not from the psychoanalytic school, which the author supports - but not uncritically. If other books by the same author are translated, I will definitely read them.

I found it extremely interesting and informative reading. As a new mom, I lack guidance on how to raise a child with respect and empathy, without becoming permissive and spoiling them. Naouri explains the handling of various situations with examples and without mincing his words. However, the frequent references to psychoanalysis could be omitted, as the book is supposed to be aimed at a wide audience.
