This volume gathers studies on the traditional culture of the Pomaks living in the mountainous areas of Xanthi.

Medicine and veterinary medicine, folk songs, traditions, place names, and their autobiographies are some of the issues examined here, through which conclusions about the Pomaks and their culture are drawn, a culture that for years remained on the margins of research and science.

The continuation of folkloric research among these ancient inhabitants of Rhodope will help us trace their history and culture, which presents much greater interest than one might assume at first glance.
