Georgia Kokkoroou-Alevra is an emeritus professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Athens. She has taught classical archaeology for 32 years at the University of Athens and has published independently or in collaboration 10 books/monographs and around 100 articles on ancient sculpture and iconography, epigraphy, ancient quarries, preliminary excavation reports, and more.
She has also scientifically edited the publication of 7 monographs/collective volumes, has participated in many international and local archaeological conferences, and has given lectures at universities/scientific institutions in Greece and abroad.
Since 1985, she has co-directed the university excavation at the Sanctuary of Apollo in Kardamaina (ancient Alasarna) on the island of Kos, and she has also coordinated many research programs co-funded by Greek resources and the European Union.
