The second game featuring the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Darksiders II, follows Death on his quest to restore the name of his brother, War, in the unjust Underworld. War, accused of prematurely starting the Apocalypse, needs Death's help. Death seeks to find the Tree of Life - a magical symbol that can reverse humanity's annihilation and free War. The challenges, however, are great, and Death's adventures include a curse sent by the wise Crowfather, while the path to the Tree of Life is blocked by Corruption.

The Underworld that Death explores in Darksiders II is much richer and more vibrant compared to War's Apocalyptic World. From the moment you start the game and begin exploring the icy palace of the Crowfather, it is evident that Vigil has adopted a more artistic approach to colors and level design. Death's adventure leads him through furnaces and water tanks.
