The "revolution" that took place in England in the 1980s, during Thatcher's government, transformed the country into the cradle of "real liberalism," and was largely prepared through a long-term project of intellectual subversion of the Keynesian order.
This project was initially undertaken by neoliberal private research and ideological propaganda institutions, which quickly spread throughout the international arena. Within a few years, these British "think tanks" contributed to forging a new common sentiment regarding the economy, to which the current British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, is still beholden, and which was built on the foundations of privatization, market deregulation, and the temporariness of employment.
