I will describe events as I experienced them myself, and many times I contributed to their creation. I will also present other incidents that I did not experience myself, but I heard them narrated to me by entirely reliable individuals, senior and top executives of the DSP, with whom I had friendly connections and collaborated either individually or in collective bodies.
In writing this book, I rely solely on the "notebooks of memory," as, unfortunately, my detailed diaries that I kept during the National Liberation struggle and in the period of the Civil War were lost.
Fortunately, when I entered the shelter in October 1949, I immediately began to record succinctly everything I remembered from what I had written in my lost diaries, and now to a large extent I rely on these "documents" of mine to write this book.
I remember the dates of the most important battles well and record them, certain that I am not mistaken; however, for other less significant chronological details, I borrow from other sources and present them, after cross-checking them with my own recollections.
