The university, with its current structure and organization, is an expression of Modernity and capitalist relations of production. As a space for the processing and production of ideas, the university could not remain outside the ideological struggle of the neoliberal model of economic management, within the existing system of capitalist relations of production.
Unable to resist and react, it has surrendered and has been fully integrated into the competitive and proprietary structures of the post-capitalist order. Viewed as a 'secondary system', it represents a symbolic field of reproduction of desirable machines and ideological conflicts.
To the extent that the university of Modernity is integrated into the global capitalist market, both the products of produced knowledge and the institutionalized processes of power distribution are exposed to the influences of a relentless competitiveness.
This book is a critique of the university of Modernity, based on schizo-analysis.
