The Jam Pedals Red Muck is a distortion effect pedal for electric guitar, inspired by the 1971 triangle-circuit Muff and the later “Red Army / Civil War” Muff. It offers varying degrees of saturation and compression, as well as sustain. The Boost footswitch activates a separate section of the circuit, intensifying the effect and creating a thicker fuzz-distortion sound. With the Gain set low, it can also function as a high-gain stage.
The two-position switch selects symmetrical clipping, as on the Red Muck mk.1, or asymmetrical “+” clipping. The Level, Tone and Gain controls let you adjust the output level, tone and gain.
