Description

The Silencio series cases from CoolerMaster are the ultimate choice for a quiet PC. The Silencio S400 features an impressive tempered glass side window that allows you to see inside your PC, while incorporating the minimalist Silencio Design.

Inside, you will find two pre-installed quiet Silencio FP 120mm fans (one at the front and one at the back) with PWM technology, which adjusts their speed according to your system's load.

The removable rear panel features high-quality sound dampening materials made of vinyl and hard foam, which cancel out the noise from powerful setups. The need for increased airflow and even lower temperatures is met by removing the top soundproof cover, a key feature of the Silencio S400.

Additionally, the interior can accommodate MiniITX and MicroATX motherboards, while offering a total of 8 drive bays, one of which is for 5.25” optical storage media.

The front panel is dominated by a plethora of modern connections, with USB3.2 Gen1 ports and an integrated card reader that connects via an internal USB header on your motherboard. The quality steel door at the front can open from both sides, thanks to a special mechanism, providing access to the ODD bay and the removable dust filter.

There is also plenty of space in other parts of the case. Thus, you will have no problem installing:

  • CPU coolers up to 166mm in height
  • Graphics cards up to 319mm in length
  • ATX power supplies up to 325mm in length

The Silencio S400 TG from CoolerMaster is the ideal and quietest choice available.

This is a full copy of the Fractal Design Define 7, up to the same materials. They might even produce it in the same factory. It is not Fractal, of course, nor does it have the extras of the Define, but it costs half the money, not to say less.

It has a very good sturdy construction and very good quality.
Visually it is nice and shows good quality.
It has good sound insulation indeed.
It has two silent but weak fans.
It has a good slot for an optical drive, it would be good to remove it if you don't want to use it.
It has a slot on top for two fans or liquid cooling, it could solve the bad airflow it has...
As for the negatives, the case has poor airflow, I think the front door obstructs the air quite a bit, plus the front air filter is very dense, it does keep a lot of dust but it makes the airflow even more difficult.
Another problem is that even though it can accommodate two 120 or 140mm fans in the front, in reality one works properly and the other half blows the air towards the back where the power supply and cables are.
Overall, despite its positives, the case is a fail.
It reduces the noise level a bit due to the good sound insulation and increases the temperature, causing the fans to work harder.
Also, it is a bit outdated and does not have USB type C.
If you bought it like I did, congratulations on the fail choice.
Note: If you only need it for office applications or light use, it is very good.

I wanted to build a smaller midi system and went for this case. Very good and sturdy construction, I would prefer the steel panel instead of tempered glass but due to availability, I went for the glass version (still very satisfied). Plenty of space for GPU (I have a Gigabyte 1050ti Windforce OC), optical drive, hard disk drive bays can be removed for more space and radiators. It is as quiet as they say, the stock CPU fan is more audible than the three Silencio fans I have (the case comes with 2 pre-installed). Good thermals for a closed-type case, but for specific numbers, it's better to check some reviews on YouTube.
