  • Very good specs (256MB RAM) and most importantly, it supports OpenWRT. I had bought it for 60€ from a well-known chain, but for some reason now its price is almost double...

Due to the situation, the whole family is working from home (myself, spouse, child with remote learning), so I wanted something more stable and faster than the provider's router (always having problems and disconnections). After doing some research online, I ended up with this particular model because of its features (Wifi AC, large bandwidth, and the easy parental control being very important).

It has quite good coverage with the 4 antennas! throughout the whole house (about 95 sq.m.) on both bands with several devices connected to it (desktop, laptop, 2 mobile phones, tablet, and smart TV). It has all the latest technology protocols (which I don't understand! but it works steadily and fast without any lag!!). The setup is very easy, you just keep the provider's modem and this router does everything else.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase, it does what it says and more. For 60 euros, it does a quality job like routers that cost 150+ euros that were recommended to me instead of this one.

  • Fan of D-link, I have smart plugs, cameras, and gigabit switches and so far I have been satisfied. I wanted to upgrade my wireless network to dual band (from an old D-link Dir-605l) to have better coverage at home and in the future, if I move to a larger place, to have the ability to add extenders from the same company. Positives: nice design, good quality plastic, gigabit ports for connecting other devices, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 for file sharing, and what impressed me a lot is that it supports very good parental control for those who have young children. You can create profiles for each child separately with their name, add their devices, and give them specific access times during the day while also blocking sites with online gaming, violent scenes, etc., as well as completely cutting off access through the application from anywhere. Also, the D-link application for the initial setup does not give you many options and requires a lot of work, it froze quite a bit until it connected. The menu, once set up through a computer, did not impress me! very basic and general settings. In the D-link Dir-605l that I am replacing, you literally get lost in the menu with the options and settings you can make. Negatives: Besides the application I mentioned above, it is also the price, quite expensive for what it does, as well as its range with 4 antennas, 2.4GHz and 5GHz in a neighboring room with one wall, it picks up 2 WIFI lines out of 5, while with the D-link Dir-605l that I am replacing with two antennas, it picks up 4 lines out of 5. Perhaps the company, because it is a Mesh Router, wants to support accessories such as some extenders. Overall: I would recommend it to parents who have young children who are away from home due to work, so there might be some control over the hours their children access the internet. As for the power-range, there are cheaper solutions from the same or other companies
