The Roland EC-10M microphone processor is a multi-effects unit for electro-acoustic instruments, designed for use with an acoustic cajón. The built-in microphone fits into the cajón’s sound hole and adds sounds as an additional layer, while the electronic sensor distinguishes between hits at the center and edge of the instrument, matching sounds to the playing surface.
It includes 16 kits of percussion sounds, such as tambourine, surdo, splash cymbal, acoustic toms and TR-808 snare, as well as cajón sounds. Each kit lets you assign two sounds to the A/B footswitches, and the unit supports connecting two optional footswitches and creating rhythmic phrases (loops) with electronic sounds. Battery operation makes it portable.
