The book attempts to address the lack of literature in the field of educational software, particularly in topics of design and evaluation, both in Greece and internationally.

The issues that concern the author pertain to educational software. However, emphasis is placed on hypermedia technology, which is now considered mature enough to serve as a powerful tool for supporting teaching practices and the learning process. This does not, of course, mean that the subject matter excludes other types of educational software.

The book is aimed at those involved in the design, development, and evaluation of educational software with an emphasis on hypermedia. It requires a satisfactory level of knowledge in the fields of education and information technology. Its ambition is to serve as a catalyst for collaboration among scientists from different specialties, bringing together people who engage with the field from various perspectives.
