Jumbo Body Construction & Tonewoods

The Takamine GJ72CE is based on a Jumbo body design, which provides increased internal body volume for deep bass frequencies and powerful sound projection. The solid spruce top is paired with flame maple back and sides, offering a fast attack, high clarity, and an extended dynamic range. The built-in Venetian cutaway makes it easier to access the higher frets on the fingerboard.

Neck, Fingerboard & Split Saddle Design

The maple neck features a satin finish for smooth hand movement, while the Laurel fingerboard has 21 frets with decorative Mother of Pearl and Abalone inlays at the 12th fret. The bridge features a pinless design for easy string changes and incorporates a split bone saddle, which optimizes intonation accuracy and volume balance between the strings.

Takamine TK-40D Preamp & Electronics

For connection to an amplifier, mixing console, or PA system, the guitar is equipped with the Takamine TK-40D preamp. The system features a built-in digital chromatic tuner with an LED display, a 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble), and a Mid Contour control to boost the mid frequencies. The adjustable Notch filter also helps eliminate unwanted acoustic feedback during live performances.
