Description

The APOLLO 2 is the evolution of the well-known APOLLO. It includes two highly sensitive ribbon elements in an X-Y Blumlein configuration and is intended for demanding stereo recordings. It is manufactured in England and is ideal for recording orchestras, pianos, and choirs.

The unique design of the APOLLO 2 allows the microphone to capture an exceptionally accurate, three-dimensional 'image'. It is ideal for orchestral, choral, and piano recordings, as well as for capturing the ambience and character of the recording space.

The APOLLO 2 also functions as an overhead microphone for drums and percussion or smaller instruments and vocal ensembles, with a natural result and ideal quality in the high frequencies, as well as fullness and volume in the mid and low ranges.

The two ribbon capsules can be isolated, allowing the APOLLO 2 to behave as a mono microphone.

The APOLLO 2 requires very little gain and no EQ, thanks to its phantom-powered circuit and transformers, which are entirely made in the UK. The engineers at Sontronics designed the microphone to be free from radio frequency interference, ensuring that the APOLLO 2's signal will always be 'crystal clear', whether in the recording studio or in a live environment.
