It has a terrible (and frightening) disadvantage! It ignores the physical lock switch that SD cards have!
If I want to view or give an SD card to a third party, I turn the switch to lock so that the files are protected from accidental deletion and viruses, etc. The card becomes read-only. The camera says: the card is protected, the same goes for computers. Unfortunately, with the ugreen card reader, this physical lock is somewhat ignored, and the computer reading it can delete files, convert, write, or even format! It was tested on a mac with usb-c and on a pc with usb3.0 and has the same behavior. With the Kingston mobilelite G4 card reader, there is no such problem, and the card lock protects the card that is in the G4.
Personally, I use the lock in various situations and it is essential for me. I will look for another reader with usb-c that does not have this problem.

Η φωτογραφική λέει: the card is protected, το ίδιο και οι υπολογιστές. Με το ugreen card reader δυστυχώς αυτό το physical lock κάπως αγνοείται και μπορεί ο υπολογιστής που την διαβάζει να σβήσει αρχεία, να μετατρέψει, να γράψει, ακόμα και να γίνει format! Δοκιμάστηκε και σε mac με usb-c, και σε pc με usb3.0 και έχει την ίδια συμπεριφορά. Με το Kingston mobilelite G4 card reader δεν υπάρχει τέτοιου είδους πρόβλημα, και το card lock προστατεύει την κάρτα που βρίσκεται στο G4.
Προσωπικά, το lock το χρησιμοποιώ σε διάφορες συνθήκες και μου είναι απαραίτητο. Θα ψάξω άλλο reader με usb-c που να μην έχει αυτό το πρόβλημα.

Amazing card reader. I bought it for PC and therefore what I write does not concern the USB-C connection but USB-A.
It was compared with UHS-II class card readers (this one is UHS-I) specifically a Sony USB 3.1 and a Kingston USB 3.2. The measurements were made with CrystalDiskMark 9.0.1.
Results with Sandisk Extreme PRO 128Gbytes UHS-I class (nominal read speed 200Mb/sec):
Ugreen: read 178.7Mb/sec, write 103.3Mb/sec
SONY: read 99.9Mb/sec, write 89.9Mb/sec
Kingston: read 95.5Mb/sec, write 88.2Mb/sec
Results with Lexar Silver Plus 128Gbytes (nominal read speed 205Mb/sec and write 150Mb/sec):
Ugreen: read 167.1Mb/sec, write 155.1Mb/sec
SONY: read 100.3Mb/sec, write 96.5Mb/sec
Kingston (not used here, but measured with fast Kingston UHS-I and delivers speeds over 180Mb/sec).
Conclusion: if you have a fast UHS-I card (extended UHS-I, over 104Mb/sec) and you don't want to be locked into the quirks of one or another manufacturer who punishes you for not buying a card reader and SD card from the same brand, then this may be the card reader you're looking for. Also on the plus side, it managed to read a very stubborn Lexar micro SD card that other card readers refused to read. As for durability over time, I don't know. If I see problems, I will come back.

It definitely deserves all 5 stars as it saved me from a lot of trouble with the Raspberry Pi Imager: two cheap readers I had (an old Hama and a brand new Lamtech) failed to write the image to the card and after that the card became unusable for further use.
Besides that, formatting is noticeably faster.

The data reading is very fast, and on the desktop it downloads twice as fast as the built-in SD reader of the laptop, to the point that I will start using it with the laptop as well.

I use it to transfer photos from a camera without connectivity to my phone. It does this job perfectly, it made things much easier for me. It is small and you can carry it with you. The port covers are tight enough so you don't lose them.

I will mention the fact that I have a DJI Mini 3 drone and I wanted a way to view some shots on-site in high quality without going through lengthy processes.
It connected normally to Poco F3 and to a computer without any issues; as for durability over time, that will show, and if something like that happens, I will change my rating.

Εγω θα αναφερω το γεγονος οτι εχω ενα DJI drone mini 3 και ηθελα εναν τροπο να βλεπω σε υψηλη ποιοτητα αμεσα καποιες ληψεις επι τοπου χωρις να μπαινω σε μεγαλες διαδικασιες.
Συνδεθηκε κανονικα σε Poco f3 και σε υπολογιστη χωρις κανενα θεμα, οσο αφορα για αντοχη στο χρονο αυτο θα δειξει, αν προκειτε κατι τετοιο να συμβει θα αλλαξω βαθμολογια.

Προσωπικά, το lock το χρησιμοποιώ σε διάφορες συνθήκες και μου είναι απαραίτητο. Θα ψάξω άλλο reader με usb-c που να μην έχει αυτό το πρόβλημα.

Small, convenient, and with very good speeds! It helped me transfer files from the camera card to my laptop. I recommend it, and I would definitely buy it again!

Amazing card reader. I bought it for PC and therefore what I write does not concern the USB-C connection but USB-A.
It was compared with UHS-II class card readers (this one is UHS-I) specifically a Sony USB 3.1 and a Kingston USB 3.2. The measurements were made with CrystalDiskMark 9.0.1.
Results with Sandisk Extreme PRO 128Gbytes UHS-I class (nominal read speed 200Mb/sec):
Ugreen: read 178.7Mb/sec, write 103.3Mb/sec
SONY: read 99.9Mb/sec, write 89.9Mb/sec
Kingston: read 95.5Mb/sec, write 88.2Mb/sec
Results with Lexar Silver Plus 128Gbytes (nominal read speed 205Mb/sec and write 150Mb/sec):
Ugreen: read 167.1Mb/sec, write 155.1Mb/sec
SONY: read 100.3Mb/sec, write 96.5Mb/sec
Kingston (not used here, but measured with fast Kingston UHS-I and delivers speeds over 180Mb/sec).
Conclusion: if you have a fast UHS-I card (extended UHS-I, over 104Mb/sec) and you don't want to be locked into the quirks of one or another manufacturer who punishes you for not buying a card reader and SD card from the same brand, then this may be the card reader you're looking for. Also on the plus side, it managed to read a very stubborn Lexar micro SD card that other card readers refused to read. As for durability over time, I don't know. If I see problems, I will come back.

Επίσης στα συν, ότι κατάφερε να μου διαβάσει μια πολύ δύστροπη micro SD κάρτα Lexar που αρνούταν να τη διαβάσουν άλλα card readers. Για αντοχή στο χρόνο, δεν ξέρω. Αν δω προβλήματα θα επανέλθω.
It works perfectly on iPhone 15 and probably on future or previous Apple models as well.

It definitely deserves all 5 stars as it saved me from a lot of trouble with the Raspberry Pi Imager: two cheap readers I had (an old Hama and a brand new Lamtech) failed to write the image to the card and after that the card became unusable for further use.
Besides that, formatting is noticeably faster.
Αξίζει και τα 5 αστεράκια καθώς με γλύτωσε από μεγάλη ταλαιπωρία με το Raspberry Pi Imager: δύο φτηνοί readers που είχα (ένας παλιός Hama και ένας ολοκαίνουριος Lamtech) αποτύγχαναν να περάσουν το image στην κάρτα και μετά από αυτό η κάρτα γινόταν άχρηστη για περαιτέρω χρήση).
Εκτός αυτού, το φορμάρισμα γίνεται πιο αισθητά πιο γρήγορα.

I bought it to download photos from a drone.
The data reading is very fast, and on the desktop it downloads twice as fast as the built-in SD reader of the laptop, to the point that I will start using it with the laptop as well.

I use it to transfer photos from a camera without connectivity to my phone. It does this job perfectly, it made things much easier for me. It is small and you can carry it with you. The port covers are tight enough so you don't lose them.

Worked straight away on Linux & Windows 10, both on Type-A and Type-C USB. No compatibility issues with any SD I tried it with. It gets quite warm during prolonged use.

Cheap, good construction, does what you expect from a card reader. I won't mention speeds, I see there are some in the reviews who seem more knowledgeable about that.
I will mention the fact that I have a DJI Mini 3 drone and I wanted a way to view some shots on-site in high quality without going through lengthy processes.
It connected normally to Poco F3 and to a computer without any issues; as for durability over time, that will show, and if something like that happens, I will change my rating.
Φθηνο, καλη κατασκευη, κανει αυτο που περιμενεις απο ενα card reader. Απο ταχυτητες δεν θα αναφερω, βλεπω υπαρχουν στις αξιολογησεις καποιοι που φαινονται πιο γνωστες επανω σε αυτο.
Εγω θα αναφερω το γεγονος οτι εχω ενα DJI drone mini 3 και ηθελα εναν τροπο να βλεπω σε υψηλη ποιοτητα αμεσα καποιες ληψεις επι τοπου χωρις να μπαινω σε μεγαλες διαδικασιες.
Συνδεθηκε κανονικα σε Poco f3 και σε υπολογιστη χωρις κανενα θεμα, οσο αφορα για αντοχη στο χρονο αυτο θα δειξει, αν προκειτε κατι τετοιο να συμβει θα αλλαξω βαθμολογια.
