Description

Description

Double-distilled product with low T in a traditional copper still.

The most important wine-producing region in Epirus is located in the Ioannina region and is the viticultural zone of Zitsa. In the heart of the zone, 27km south of Ioannina, lies the Zoinos Winery which was founded in 1974 as the first winery in the area. Its establishment is a milestone for the Greek vineyard as well as for the economy of the zone. Some of the most important growers of Debina discovered the potential of its vinification and chose the slopes of Zitsa to invest their efforts and sign their wines. In 1974, Zitsa became one of the first areas in Greece to receive the O.P.A.P. designation for its wines.

As long as it was made from 100% Debina, it was THE best. For about a year now it's made from various varieties, so it's just average.

I had drunk this particular tsipouro 3-4 years ago and for my taste, IT WAS EXCELLENT...! Being back in Ioannina, I searched for it and procured it... DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I don't know if everything is done for commercial reasons, but this particular one not only did not resemble in aroma and taste the excellent, I repeat, NTEMPINA, but it gave me something like a mix of grapes, and indeed of low quality... I say all this having knowledge of distillation and tsipouro and wine... Really a shame...

The best tsipouro in the market, personally I don't buy and drink any other tsipouro (unless I find good homemade bulk)
