Reprint of the classic manual of Modern Greek Grammar first published in 1976, immediately after the historic decision of the then government for the establishment of the demotic as the language of all levels of Education, a book that is more connected than any other with the official solution to the language issue.

As the subtitle states, this is an Adaptation of the Small Modern Greek Grammar by Manolis Triantafyllides, which he published in 1949. The Committee formed to oversee the compilation of the book consisted of M. Stasinopoulos, Petros Charis, Emm. Kriaras, L. Politis, Ag. Tsopanaki, and Al. Karanikolas (who was also the president of the relevant working group).

The present edition is a reprint, with permission from the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, of the 1983 edition in the monotonic system by OEDB. The book is no longer distributed in schools, but the Institute deemed it necessary to ensure that this emblematic book continues to be available to educators and students.
