In this fourth edition, the entire content of individual labor relations has undergone new processing, taking into account both the legislative changes that occurred during the period since the previous edition and the rich case law produced during this time.

Labor law is predominantly case law, and the contribution of case law to its formation is decisive. Without in-depth knowledge of case law, one cannot obtain a clear picture of the applicable labor law. For this reason, special emphasis has been placed in this edition on the presentation and analysis of the relevant case law for each issue, with critique included where deemed necessary.

Given that fundamental issues of labor law, such as working time, collective dismissals, prohibition of discrimination, protection of employees in the event of business transfer, fixed-term employment contracts, part-time employment, temporary employment, etc., involve the application of Union law through the transposition of the corresponding directives into national law, this new edition aims for as complete a presentation and analysis of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union as possible, while also including critical observations on the positions taken by the Court on specific issues.

Despite the significant changes and the increase in content presented in the new edition, the goal remains the same: a systematic, methodical, and as complete as possible development and processing of the material of individual labor relations, aiming to assist the legal practitioner and the researcher in their work and to provide stimuli for the further evolution of labor law.
