The Palatine or Greek Anthology is one of the most valuable sources for our acquaintance not only with ancient Greek poetry but also with Poetry in general. The capital P. It introduces us not only to a period of 17 centuries (covering from the 7th century BC to 950 AD) but also teaches us.
Its 3,700 poems (almost all epigrams, totaling around 23,000 verses) are not just poetry. They are also poetic. And I believe that the poetic form that is closest to Poetry more than any other is the epigram.
