I have had it for about 2.5 months now.
I have heard and seen from other users that it does indeed wear out and darken over time, but what I have noticed is that the usage plays a big role in how quickly it wears out.
For example, when it is in the pocket of tight pants and constantly rubbing against them, it is logical for it to wear out as it is constantly being rubbed and worn out.
It is also not good to clean it with baby wipes or disinfectant as the color fades away because they contain alcohol, resulting in it fading. Many people have ruined it this way.
As for me, I am generally careful. I never put my phone in pockets, I clean it gently with water or a little soap if needed. It hasn't had any issues in 2 months and the color hasn't changed, faded, or worn out anywhere. I got it for 27€ on sale.
For that price, I consider it worth it if you want something of quality, Apple, if you are a fan of leather and the feeling it gives you.
It fits tightly on the phone, but it is not difficult to remove. It gives a nice feeling as you hold it, it doesn't slip, and it doesn't collect hair and dust like the silicone ones from Apple, which are hair magnets. That's why I switched to a leather one. It absorbs shocks, it has fallen once and it was like falling on a pillow, it didn't make any noise, and of course, nothing happened to it.
The only thing that "bothers" me is that it leaves the bottom uncovered, like all Apple cases, which they fixed in the cases for the 12.
However, the bottom part hasn't scratched despite that.
The red one I have is one of my favorites as it is quite dark (personal preference) and it doesn't look like the silicone Product Red case, which is much lighter. I wouldn't mind if it darkens even more over time.
Conclusions:
A very good case with a nice finish, a very nice feeling in the hand, and nice buttons that are just right, not too hard or too soft.
So, if you have the money and WANT to spend it (because let's not kid ourselves, for this price there are similar cases and much better ones), and you don't misuse your phone, for example, by putting it in pockets, throwing it around, constantly cleaning it, or constantly taking the case off and on (these ways will make the case fade and wear out), then it is a very good choice for you.
I don't regret this purchase, quite the opposite.
And even though I have a mania for collecting cases and I have several, I have stuck with this one since I got it and it remains unchanged with the usage I give it, and it protects my phone perfectly.
It also has a velvety material on the inside that prevents dust from entering and doesn't harm the phone.
