WHOEVER YOU ARE, WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT TO CHANGE

Bilbao, Spain. Robert Langdon, a professor of symbology and religious iconology at Harvard, visits the Guggenheim Museum to attend the announcement of a significant discovery that is set to change the face of science forever.

The host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-something billionaire futurist, known for his amazing, high-tech inventions and provocative predictions that have made him globally famous. Kirsch, who was one of Langdon's first students at Harvard twenty years ago, is about to reveal an astonishing achievement that will provide answers to two of the most fundamental questions about human existence.

But the evening quickly spirals into absolute chaos, Kirsch's discovery is at risk of being lost forever, and Langdon is forced to flee Bilbao along with Abra Vidal, the beautiful director of the museum, seeking refuge in Barcelona in an attempt to locate the hidden access code that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.

Through dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, following traces of modern art as well as enigmatic symbols, Langdon and Vidal must escape from a tortured pursuer, who appears to have powerful allies within the Spanish Royal Palaces, and who will stop at nothing to silence Kirsch.

Dan Brown's most imaginative and brilliant novel.

As Valdespino walked ahead of Kirsch on the dock, the cold mountain air made the Bishop's vestments flap. "I must confess," said Valdespino, "you look different from what I had imagined. I expected to see a scientist, but I see that you are very..." A hint of disdain colored his gaze as he observed his guest's elegant, designer suit and handmade ostrich leather shoes. "'Refined' is the word people use, if I'm not mistaken?" Kirsch smiled politely. People had stopped using the word "refined" decades ago. "I studied the list of your achievements," the Bishop commented, "and I am still not entirely sure what it is you do." "I specialize in game theory and computer simulations." "You mean you make those computer games that children play?"

I put it down at around 250 pages. At first, it is interesting, but then it becomes tiring; it cuts off the climaxes many times right at the good parts and throws you into another chapter with a different hero and scene. It's as if it was written by AI. One more thing is that the book is generally light without much substance. It does have some nice points in it, but they are not enough to keep your interest. I deliberately skimmed through it until about the end, and it remains the same. Personally, since I bought it, I will make an effort to read only the ending and then put it on the shelf.

Repetitive and tiresome. The overall tone and style make you get bored quickly.
