The Lehrbuch teaches and examines oral and written speech (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written and oral expression). This way, the student acquires the skills and abilities described in the Common European Framework of Reference (Gemeinsamer Europaischer Referenzrahmen) and required for obtaining the language certificate at level B1 (Goethe-Zertifikat B1 or KPG B1).

In the Arbeitsbuch, grammar and syntax are explained and practiced, as well as written and oral speech through a plethora of exercises.
