Tables: Historical and mythological, of authors, musicians, creators, geographical and ethnological, of known things. Maps, diagrams, images of areas and archaeological findings.
Pausanias was born around 110 AD in Magnesia under Mount Sipylus, in Asia Minor, and died in 180. Having likely held a permanent position at the library of Pergamum and a family estate, he traveled extensively to Greece, Egypt, Syria, Rome, and elsewhere from a young age.
His writing, 'Description of Greece', offers rich archaeological material and has been a source of abundant information for his successors on mythology, political history, and folk culture, as well as a guide to archaeological excavation in ancient topography during the excavations in many areas of Greece.
