In the picturesque village of Sylvanian, if someone needs a new suit or a fairy-tale wedding dress, they know exactly who to visit: the Bramble family (Hedgehogs)! Mortimer, the dad, is the tailor who keeps all the residents well-dressed, while mom Eleanor designs the most beautiful dresses. Little Maxwell is trying to learn his father's craft, although sometimes he gets tangled up in the threads, and sweet Abigail makes tiny clothes for her dolls.
The children love to stroke their long, soft "spikes" (which are actually fluffy fur!) and brush them with special brushes. The play comes alive by setting up their own tailor shop: "Mr. Mortimer, is my jacket ready?". Through these roles, the child becomes a director in stories of creation, fashion, and family love.
