Description

This distinctive breed has settled in the British Isles for about three hundred years. The origin of the Dalmatian dogs, although not absolutely known, seems to trace back to the first time nobles and hunters from Eastern Europe used dogs.

The breed evolved during the Regency era, mainly due to the dogs' love for horses. Dalmatian dogs became known as "coach dogs." With the arrival of the automobile, they went through a period of obscurity.

During the interwar period, their popularity rose again, until they became established as the most beloved family dogs, capable of excelling in both stature and dog beauty contests.
