In "Don Giovanni," from the very title, old expectations and certainties about literature are sought to be undermined once again (it would be interesting to explore when they were not being undermined).
Giorgos Koropoulos, following an international post-novelistic trend (we won't call it a movement yet), attempts to strip away literaryness by employing literary methods and forms – and indeed from the most strict and traditional ones.
This schizophrenic behavior (which often gives the impression that it is more about interpretation or performance rather than writing) thankfully leaves the reader unaffected, who, ultimately, having wagered to finish the book, is left with the reward of reading some very beautiful, highly classical (;), delightful poems.
With the certainty that the author will not repeat the endeavor, and that literature is in no way discouraged by similar, flirtatious, complex challenges.
And what, after all, has ever threatened literature, beyond itself, and paradoxically salvation-y, self-awareness;
