This book is a repertoire proposal for the flute, with songs and melodies from various regions of Greece. The selection of the "musical material" was made with the criterion of the most representative presentation of the sounds and rhythms encountered in our traditional music.

The playing techniques of the flute suggested in the book, such as articulation, ornaments, glissando, as well as the production of non-tempered intervals, refer to the technique of the traditional flute player.

In addition, the suggested fingerings in various passages guide the reader, providing solutions to technical problems.

The anthology of melodies "The Art of the Flute" is addressed to students of music schools and schools, music teachers, professional musicians, as well as to every music lover, with the expectation of proving a useful tool for approaching our traditional music, while contributing to the enrichment of the literature on this sweet-sounding instrument.
