This edition is a contribution to the bibliography of the rebetiko song. It includes the recording of a significant number of interwar period recordings, concerning compositions of the urban repertoire. All the well-known composers of the era are represented in this selection, which is based on criteria of both aesthetics and the highlighting of unique melodic developments.
