The dictionary is written in the modern Greek language using the monotonic system.

The lemma is written in bold characters. The same applies to derivatives and expressions listed.

The lemma is replaced by the symbol (~) where examples or expressions are present, for reasons of space economy.

The pronunciation is enclosed in brackets and has been rendered with Greek characters in the Russian-Greek section and with Cyrillic characters in the Greek-Russian section to make the dictionary more user-friendly.

For each lemma, there is a brief grammatical classification (e.g. noun). Nouns that are the same in both genders do not have a gender classification.

Where necessary, explanatory terms have been used (e.g. medical).

At the end of the dictionary (Appendix A), there is a detailed reference to the most important rules of Greek and Russian pronunciation, to assist both the Greek and the Russian user.
