  • Paper quality
  • I would recommend it for purchase
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I would choose a book by the same author
  • The Hunger Games is one of those timeless books that no matter what you say, you can't describe it adequately. We may have read it, seen it, talked about it dozens of times, but the truth is one: it is shocking. It speaks about social oppression, manipulation, about how power uses fear and violence to keep the masses obedient. And all of this is conveyed through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl who only wanted to protect her sister.

Katniss is a heroine you won't forget. She is not perfect, she is not always sure of what she is doing – but she is real. The first book in the series has so much intensity, so much emotional charge, that even if you know what will happen, you can't stop reading it.

And now, the Deluxe Edition? It is simply beautiful. It has a stunning cover, the edges of the pages are painted with special designs (truly impressive in its physical form!) and it is perfect for collection. If you haven't read the book yet, this is the perfect excuse. And if you already have it, it's worth reading it again this way – with a more "festive" version.

I say this with certainty: it is one of those books that you must have in your library.
