Use the ideas from the book as sources of inspiration. Adapt them to your own needs and desires, to the money you are willing to spend, and to the available time you have for implementing your plan. Don't hesitate to combine ideas from different gardens. Above all, however, do not be discouraged by the prospect of redesigning and reconstructing your garden.

Gardening is more than just planting plants and caring for them. It is the creation of a cohesive outcome, the realization of an idea in a garden where plants will play as significant a role as other architectural features (such as pavements and walls, for example).
