Ultra-HDDA Preamplifiers & Analog Architecture

The Tascam Model 16 features 10 discrete Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps (High Definition Discrete Architecture), delivering an exceptionally low equivalent input noise level (-128 dBu EIN) and a high signal-to-noise ratio. Channels 1 and 2 feature Hi-Z selector switches for directly connecting an electric guitar or bass without the need for an external DI box, as well as Insert jacks for connecting external signal processors. Channels 1 to 8 also feature independent 1-Knob Compression controls for instantly managing the dynamic range of vocals and instruments.

Standalone SD Multitrack Recorder & USB Audio Interface

The console functions as a standalone multitrack recorder, allowing simultaneous recording of up to 16 tracks (14 input channels + Main Stereo Mix) directly to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards at 24-bit / 48kHz resolution, without the need for a computer. At the same time, the USB Type-B port enables it to function as a bidirectional 16 In / 14 Out USB audio interface, allowing multitrack recording in DAW software while simultaneously routing the digital channels back to the console channels for analog summing.

Flexible Routing, DSP Effects & Equalization

Each Model 16 channel features a 3-position input source selector (Live / PC / MTR), allowing you to switch instantly between live analog signals, DAW channels from your computer, or track playback from the SD card. The processing section includes a 3-band EQ with adjustable mid frequency on the mono channels, a built-in DSP digital effects unit with 16 programs (Reverbs, Delays, Chorus, Flanger), and a main 4-band Master Graphic EQ assignable to the Main Bus or Monitor outputs.

Bluetooth Connectivity, Control & Construction

The console includes a dedicated stereo channel (Channel 13/14) equipped with a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, enabling wireless audio playback from mobile devices, as well as analog RCA and 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack inputs. It features high-precision 60 mm faders, dedicated PFL/AFL and Mute buttons on each channel, and a sturdy metal chassis. It can also be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack using the optional Model 16 Rackmount Kit.
